Sanjay Kumar boasts an extensive background spanning over thirty years in governance and leadership, focusing on Public Policy, Procurement, and Sustainability. As the founder of NEXGEN Procurement Solutions, he is driving transformative change in procurement and supply chain management through innovative, sustainable practices. Sanjay has played a pivotal role in shaping sustainable procurement policy for the Government of India and advises multilateral development agencies like World Bank, Asian Development Bank, European Union’s SWITCH Asia, etc. on their S/GPP projects globally. 

With Master degrees from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee and TERI School of Advanced Studies New Delhi in Environmental Engineering and Public Policy & Sustainable Development respectively, he combines academic rigour with over two decades real-world procurement experiences. Sanjay has held prominent leadership positions, including serving as President of the Board of Trustees for the APRSCP (2021-24) and as a member of the Strategic Advisory Committee for the Sustainable Purchasing Leadership Council (SPLC).

He has been felicitated with 2017 Individual Leadership Award by Sustainable Purchasing Leadership Council (SPLC),  Washington USA for his vision, leadership and dedicated effort that has been fundamental to the growth of the sustainable purchasing movement in India. SPLC also noted - "through active collaboration with international entities, Sanjay has become a recognized advocate for sustainable procurement on the global stage". 

As the author of the pioneering book "Understanding Sustainable Public Procurement," Sanjay continues to shape global discourse and drive impactful change in sustainable procurement worldwide.
