About

Everyone working on challenges for implementing sustainable procurement policy in public organization acknowledges that creating awareness among stakeholders is the key to success of any implementation efforts. It is often the case that stakeholders are not aware of the nuances of sustainable procurement i.e. what, why and how? This blog aims to provide right and relevant information on sustainable procurement to all those, who are concerned about the sustainability of our economic growth. This blog is for everyone, who shares an interest in integrating environmental and social concerns in business. Whether you are procurers, environmentalists, vendors, researchers or free lance – this blog has got something thought-provoking to engage you, or practical advice to help you and learn from your experiences. The idea is to build a critical mass of stakeholders, who can hasten the implementation of sustainable procurement policy in India and other developing countries.

I would try and change the style, length, and content of blog pieces to keep them varied and topical and welcome your involvement. If you’d like to have your say and post a comment, or if you want to become an author, I would be delighted to hear from you, especially if your interest lies within the following areas:
a. Sustainable/ Green Procurement
b. Green Supply Chain Management
c. Eco-labeling and Voluntary Standards
d.Sustainable Consumption and Production
e. Resource efficiency
f. Green technology and Innovation

g. Climate Change & Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs

This blog is listed as one of the global initiatives on Sustainable Consumption and Production on UNEP SCP Clearinghouse.
